The Center for Strategic and Defence Studies Africa (CSDS Africa), has on Wednesday, 13th May, 2020 honoured Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh, the Ghana’s Inspector-General of Police with a handsome reward. According to a communique issued by the Police administration soon after the presentation, it was believed that, the IGP was honoured with a reward of a Lifetime Achievement Award for his generosity, hard work, transparency among many.
During a short ceremony organised at the Ghana Police Headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, 13th May, 2020, Ambassador Dr William Brandful presented the Award to the Inspector-General of Police Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh.
Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh was promoted by President Akufo-Addo from the Deputy Inspector-General of Police position to acting Inspector-General of Police in July, 2019 following the president’s directive for the former IGP Mr. Appeatu to proceed on leave with immediate effect.
In October 2019, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reappointed Mr. James Oppong- Boanuh as the substantive Inspector-General of Police and extension of service for two years in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
