Interior Ministry declares August 5 as Public Holiday

Hon. Henry Quartey, Minister of the Interior stated in an officially signed release dated July 31, 2024, declared Monday, August 5, 2024, as a Statutory Public Holiday –Founders’ Day.

The 2024 observing day for the holiday (Founders’ Day), 4th August 2024 falls on a Sunday, therefore His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 5th August, 2024 as an additional Public Holiday.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged all citizens to observe this special day throughout the country.
