Government releases Gh¢18,000,000 to National Security Minister for Special Operations in Bawku

The Government of Ghana has released Gh¢18,000,000 to the National Security Minister to undertake special operations in relation to the Bawku conflict.
The release for this directive was signed by Hon. Abena Osei-Asare, Minister of State on July 11, 2024, and copied to The Hon. Minister (MOF), The Hon. Minister (MNS), The Hon. Deputy Ministers (MOF), The Chief Director (MOF), The Chief Director (MNS), The Ag. Director of Budget (MOF), and The Auditor-General (GAS).

According to the letter, the Ministry of Finance was “authorized to release the sum of GH¢18,000,000.00 (Eighteen Million Ghana Cedis) to enable the Hon. Minister for National Security fund urgent special operations in Bawku for the third quarter, 2024.”

RELEASE OF FUNDS FOR SPECIAL OPERATIONS FOR THIRD QUARTER, 2024-BAWKU
Reference is made to the Ministry of National Security’s letter numbered NSCS/ACCTRF/042/24 dated 12th June 2024 on the above subject matter (copy attached).
2. You are hereby authorized to release the sum of GH¢18,000,000.00 (Eighteen Million Ghana Cedis) to enable the Hon. Minister for National Security fund urgent special operations in Bawku for the third quarter, 2024.
3. The expenditure of GH¢18,000,000.00 should be charged as per the attached Specific Warrant.
