The Former Deputy Minister of Education and the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has cleared misconceptions and allegations in the media space that, he has granted an interview stating that the government is increasing workers’ salaries by 12.5%, including that of teachers.
According to the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Education, he state categorically that, he has made no such remarks on any platform.
“My attention has been drawn to news circulating that I have granted an interview stating that the government is increasing workers’ salaries by 12.5%, including that of teachers.” Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum explained.
Earlier, there were some news in the media that, the Former Deputy Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum made comments that, the New Patriotic Party government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is increasing salary of workers’ especially teachers.
This has captured the public attention where most workers including teachers expressed joy and happiness in the news.
Shortly after the news, a section of Ghanaian teachers have descended heavily on the Minister of Education designate because the salary increment as allegedly said by Dr. Adutwum did not see the light of the day in regard of their January, 2021 salary.
Clearing the airwaves, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said, he made no such statement and the public must disregard the allegations in the media.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has therefore called on the public especially teachers to immediately disregard such news in the media.
