John Mahama supports TUC’s call for VAT reversal on electricity

Former President John Mahama doubling as the 2024 Flagbearer for the NDC has expressed his endorsement for the Trade Union Congress’ (TUC) plea to revert the Value Added Tax (VAT) on electricity.
Advocating against the implementation of VAT on electricity consumption, Mahama highlights the potential consequence of a nearly 21% surge in tariffs, intensifying the economic challenges faced by Ghanaians.
He said the ripple effect is anticipated to extend to the cost of goods, services, and transportation fares, compounding the existing financial burden.
