The Press conference which was aired by the leaders of the group on 6th October, 2020 on the Western Togoland separatist groups has a press statement which reads;

It will be recalled that on the 29th of September 2020, exactly a week ago, the traditional leaders of Asogli State, like many other traditional leaders in the region, expressed their utmost disgust about the attacks on our region, allegedly by Western Togoland separatist group (s). This follows disturbances in mounting of road blocks and burning of lorry tyres, attack on police stations and seizure of police vehicle and guns and subsequently burning of the STC vehicle in Ho.

We take the opportunity to once again express our frustration and displeasure about verbal effusions and disrespect to our chiefs and the people of Volta by leading political figures, which have not been addressed by the appropriate authorities, including but not limited to:

* The statement, a few years ago, by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, urging the killing of the Voltarians and Gas;

* The recent statement by K. T. Hammond, recorded on video, that the people of the Volta Region are not Ghanaians, but Togolese;

* The disrespect shown to the Chiefs during visits by political leaders to the region.

* Attacks on the Agbogbomefia Togbe Afede XIV by Mr. Freddy Blay – NPP National Chairman

* Recent audio tape in circulation in which the NPP Bono regional chairman Kwame Boaffoe aka Abronye D.C is heard pouring out invectives against the people of Volta, and referring to us as foreigners.

We are also frustrated by the following:

* The recent, “mistaken” exclusion of the Region’s roads from the national budget;

* The invasion of our region by the military and other “security” forces during the recent voter registration exercise, under the guise of fighting COVID-19: and

* The video circulated by one Kevin Taylor, supposedly based in the United States of America, in which he alleged that the government was planning to send vigilantes to foment trouble in the Region, ahead of the elections, with a view to disrupting same.

Within the context of Kevin Taylor’s video, we have also been following keenly statements in the media from the Separatist group(s) denying involvement the ongoing violent attacks on the region and the counter accusations from the government of Ghana.

We the Asogli youth and warriors having fully analyzed the negative impacts these disturbances could have on our region as regards:

* Eroding investor confidence

* Creation of anxiety and insecurity

* Wastage of scare national resources on maintenance of security

* Disruption in business and social activities, and

* Threats to disruption of voting in the region during the forthcoming December 7 elections, among others.

We therefore want to lend our fullest support to the call by our traditional leaders on the warriors to rise up and protect its citizens to complement the efforts of the state security apparatus, since security is a shared responsibility.

We also call on sister traditional rulers in the Volta Region to put their warriors on high alert so we can together defend our heritage. History is on our side so we cannot fail this time round.

We are therefore throwing a challenge to members of the separatist group(s) to join us (Asogli warriors) and state security so we can together unravel the mysterious perpetrators of these criminal acts, if they truly believe they are being accused wrongly.

We also want to assure all and sundry of our determination to ensure that business, social life, and the forthcoming elections are not disrupted in our region.

We have therefore initiated series of spiritual exercises in readiness for the task ahead and would invoke the gods and spirit of our ancestors to struck any leader who is/are betraying the people Volta for their selfish gains.
