The Former 1st Deputy Speaker of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana has been re-elected as the 1st Deputy Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
The former 1st Deputy Speaker and the Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency Joseph Osei Owusu has been nominated by the Suame Constituency Member of Parliament Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu as the 1st Deputy Speaker of the 8th Parliament.

The nomination was then seconded by the Tamale South Constituency Member of Parliament Haruna Iddrisu.
The House, after the nomination has unanimously re-elected him by consensus as the 1st Deputy Speaker to assist the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin

Joseph Osei-Owusu will serve as the 1st Deputy Speaker for another four years thus; 7th January, 2021 to 6th January, 2025.
