The Current Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Michael Adofo Abuah has been given an ultimatum by the management of the university to step down from his position for alleged issues of misconduct.

The letter which was signed by the Deputy Registrar, Ms Lucy Diawuo directed the current SRC President to step down by the close of 25th August, 2022 whilst investigations into the matter will be conducted.

This action has become necessary following some alleged issues of embezzlement of SRC funds and other issues of corruption and misconduct which has caused students to lose faith in the Students’ Representative Council.

A part of the letter which was addressed to Mr Michael Abuah said that the management is still on investigations into the issues and that until the investigations are over, the current President cannot be addressed as such.

Management of the school has however stated that measures will be taken to put things in place in order to ensure the smooth running of the Students’ Representative Council and also encouraged students of the institution to count on them for a thorough investigation into the issues.
