KNUST takes strict disciplinary actions against four students for gross misconduct

Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has takes strict disciplinary actions against four (4) continuing students of the University.
According to the notice issued by the Public Relations Unit of the University, different levels of disciplinary actions were taken against some students for misbevior, gross misconduct and extortion of monies.
The statement published by the University as intercepted by Coverghana.com.gh includes the underlisted students, their offences and punishments meted out to each of them.
NAME OF STUDENT
1. Mr. Rexford Joseph Bonney
OFFENCE
Involvement in the unauthorised installation of ‘Odikro’ at Unity Hall.
PUNISHMENT
Rusticated for two (2) academic years 2021/2022 & 2022/2023.
NAME OF STUDENT
2. Mr. Baffour Owusu Konadu
OFFENCE
Gross Misconduct and bringing the name of the University into disrepute.
PUNISHMENT
Rusticated for one (1) academic year i.e 2021/2022.
NAME OF STUDENT
3. Mr. Patrick Dwamena Sekyere
OFFENCE
Extortion of monies from students with the promise of securing them accommodation at GUSSS and SRC Hostels.
PUNISHMENT
Suspended indefinitely
NAME OF STUDENT
4. Mr. Dwumah Ramsay Ohene-Tutu
OFFENCE
Stealing of two (2) laptops from the Main University Library on different occasions.
PUNISHMENT
Dismissed.
Management of the University said, all the relevant Officers of the University and your parents/guardians are being informed accordingly.
