Kpando SHS graduate with 8As in WASSCE receives full scholarship at KNUST for his Medical Degree
Kpando Senior High School graduate, Sampson Dabanyi who scored 8As in 2022 WASSCE receives full scholarship at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for his Medical Degree.
In December 2022, news about Sampson Dabanyi who read Science at Kpando Senior High School and scored 8As in his WASSCE (2022) surfaced on social media seeking for financial support to continue his education.

The dream of a 20-year-old Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology (KNUST) medical student, Sampson Dabanyi, of becoming a medical doctor has been ignited with the support from Mr. Zhenjiang Tang, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited, a subsidiary of Shandong Gold Group Limited.
The 20-year-old student from Worawora, a predominantly farming community in the Oti Region, is currently undertaking a BSc Human Biology degree at the School of Medicine and Dentistry at KNUST.
Dabanyi’s dream and unwavering determination to become a Medical Doctor and give back to his community started with a remarkable 8As score in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 2022.

He received a cheque of GH¢20,000 from Mr. Zhenjiang Tang in the presence of his mother and three brothers.
Mr. Zhenjiang Tang pledged to support Sampson Dabanyi’s six-year medical education with an annual fund of GH¢20,000 to be paid in July yearly; GH¢10,000 will be delivered to the university, and the remaining GH¢10,000 will be given to the learner for his upkeep.

Sampson Dabanyi aspires to graduate, become a surgeon or neurosurgeon, and give back to his community.
His achievement and WASSCE results were posted on LinkedIn by the business organisation, which received accolades.
