Career Guidance and Mentorship Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District in the Eastern Region has presented an electric wheelchair to a person living with disability.
Mr. Emmanuel Attaku (the beneficiary) got disabled after a car accident on July 31, 2010 which led to the amputation of his left leg.
The presentation, which was done yesterday at the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly Hall, was done by Mr. Ernest Ewusi (District Social Development Officer) on behalf of the NGO.
The presentation of the electric wheel chair was necessitated, after the NGO through the District Social Development found out in a survey that, the rickety wheel chair which was being used by Mr. Emmanuel had developed some fault, making his movement a bit difficult.
Mr. Emmanuel Attaku, through his family has appreciated the NGO for their timely intervention and promised to make good use of the wheel chair whiles taking good care of it too. He believes his ability to maintain and make good use of the chair would serve as motivation for the NGO to do more for others.
Present was the District Chief Executive for the Kwahu Afram Plains North District, Mr. Isaac Ofori Koree. He appreciated the NGO and urged the beneficiary and his family to make good use of the wheel chair.
The Career Guidance and Mentorship Foundation, which was established in 2020 had so far sponsored over 16 students from the District into various Tertiary Institutions across the country.
