Former President John Dramani Mahama says, corruption and waste of resources are major factors killing Ghana’s economy in the recent times.

Addressing the state on issues of broke economy and its associated allies, on April 7, 2022, John Mahama attributed the challenging economic crisis to the incumbent president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regime.

He disclosed what, the approach used to tackle unemployment is ‘short sighted’ and can’t curb the rising rate of unemployment in the country.

To him, the sitting President [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo] is incompetent in delivery what he promised.

John Mahama explained that, the education sector promised by Akufo-Addo has been rolled out with mess, chaos in queries under his watch and crime rates are escalating than ever.

He reinterated that, Nana Addo must call his government to order and relieve his fellow Ghanaians from the harsh economic difficulties.

He delved into the corruption cases where government officials extorts state funds but are not prosecuted in any way, either been fine, sacked or directed to refund what has been extorted through ghost names.

According to John Dramani Mahama, the resources of the state should be propelled to beneficial projects that can help the economy, since Ghana’s resources are scarce, hence, an innovative and futuristic plan must be drawn to utilize them.
