Learn from Prince Mordzifa’s exemplary honesty, decency and respect for law – Okudzeto Ablakwa

The Honourable Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is calling on the public to learn from Prince Mordzifa’s exemplary honesty, decency and respect for the Law of the country.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa who was very pleased in the manner at which a twenty-five (25) year old Ghanaian citizen of his Constituency displayed his patriotism said, “Let me take a moment to celebrate Prince Mordzifa, a 25 year old constituent of my beloved North Tongu who has demonstrated such exemplary honesty, decency, respect for the law and a golden character.”

Reports avialabl show that, Prince Mordzifa found himself behind bars at the Aveyime Police Station on the dawn of Friday 25th September, 2020 when those marauding insurgents violently (Western Togoland separatists) took over the Aveyime and Mepe Police Stations.

Prince was one of the inmates freed by the insurgents and replaced with the police on duty whom they had held hostage.

According to Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa Prince’s troubles with the law was as a result of his rage during a fight with another young man when he vandalized the latter’s motorbike with a cutlass he was using on his farm.

Following a complaint to the Aveyime police, Prince was arrested and remanded by a Sogakope court a couple of weeks before the invasion of the alleged secessionists.

Narrating incident further, the former Deputy Education Minister and currently the Ranking Member on Foreign Affairs said, when Prince was spirited out of the cells by the insurgents and told he was now a free man at about 1:50am, he was the first to call the CID officer in charge of the case before 9am of same day to indicate his whereabouts and convey his decision to turn himself in as soon as normalcy was restored at the Police Station. Prince did just that the next day when he heard the police command was now back in control of the Aveyime Police Station. His fellow inmates remain on the run.

“Hearing about Prince’s near saintly and patriotic conduct when I visited the Aveyime Police Station a day after the attack, I assured him that God always smiles on people with a good heart.” He told.

“With  legal assistance arranged, the complainant compensated – this amazing story ends on a happy note. Prince secured his full and total freedom this week as the case ended successfully. I believe he has learnt lessons on exercising self-restraint regardless of the nature of provocation.” Mr. Ablakwa said.

“May Prince’s story inspire us all to let the good in us triumph at all times, no matter the circumstances and no matter how tempting it is to take advantage of situations.”

The MP again said, “to  further celebrate our hero, Prince receives an undisclosed cash amount to expand his farm, a cell phone and an MP’s full tertiary education scholarship.”

“I  also do hope that the fugitives who continue to be on the run would be encouraged to have second thoughts and follow the Mordzifa example.”
