The Inspector General of Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh has tasked police officers to arrest criminals no matter how long it takes.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh paid a working visit to the newly created Oti Region this week where he charged Police officers in the region to use all lawful means to arrest perpetrators of crime in the country promptly.

The IGP also added that but where the immediate arrest of criminals is not possible due to circumstances, the perpetrators must be arrested to face the law in the least opportune time.

The Inspector General of Police’s working visit to the Oti Region is to to inspect operational capabilities and readiness of the Regional Police Command, to lead security agencies in the region before, during and after the December elections.

In a post on the officially verified facebook page of the Ghana Police Service, the country’s law enforcement agency wrote;

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh has visited the Oti Region to inspect operational capabilities and readiness of the Regional Police Command, to lead security agencies in the region before, during and after the December elections.

At a durbar of Police Officers at Dambai, IGP Oppong-Boanuh charged the officers to use all lawful means to arrest perpetrators of crime promptly but where the immediate arrest is not possible due to circumstances, the perpetrators must be arrested to face the law in the least opportune time.

The durbar also discussed other matters, including welfare of the officers.
