Former President of Ghana doubling as the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 2024 flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has promised to put an end to teacher licensure exams. He described the exams to be “obnoxious and needless”.

Former President John Mahama let out his plan for teacher trainees during his “Building Ghana” tour held at Wenchi, Bono Region.

“We will abolish the obnoxious licensure exams for teacher trainees and restore the automatic employment of teacher trainee graduates.

“Let me state unequivocally that no teacher trainee graduate will be denied posting or employment under the next Mahama government.”

Casting mind back, he talked about canceling the teacher licensure exams in his 2020 manifesto unfortunately, he did not win the election.

JM believes that the exams teacher trainees wrote throughout their stay in college have the necessary elements for teacher certification therefore his government will cancel the NTC licensure and employ teachers automatically without any fuss.

He called on Ghanaians to vote for him into power come the 2024 General elections for him and his affectionate party to implement the futuristic plans they have for mother Ghana.
