Alleged serial killer Lucy Letby is a former neonatal nurse who now lives in Britain. She attempted to kill or killed infants in her care between 2015 and 2016.
Letby was detained in July 2018 in connection with a string of newborn deaths that occurred at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester between June 2015 and June 2016, where she had worked as a neonatal nurse since 2011.
Lucy Letby was arrested again in June 2019 and again in November 2020 in relation to additional infant deaths at the hospital after being freed on bail. She was charged with eight murder counts and ten attempted murder counts the day after her last arrest.
She was found guilty of killing seven newborns and trying to kill six more during the 12-month period at the conclusion of her trial, which ran from October 2022 to August 2023. A sentence for her is scheduled for August 21.
