The Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Mr Richard Ahiagbah has reacted to the resignation of Mr. Martin A. B. K Amidu.
Reacting to the resignation of Mr. Martin Amidu, Mr. Richard Ahiagba indicated that the resigned Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu has taken Ghanaians and President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo for granted.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Mr. Richard Ahiagba explained that, the resigned special prosecutor has taken all Ghanaians including the President for granted because the whole country reposed confidence in him and placed him in the office of the special prosecutor to help the country fight Corruption but he just turned around and abandoned his position.
Mr. Richard Ahiagba who is the executive director of the Danquah Institute said;
“But in reading his letter, I think the Special Prosecutor has taken Ghanaians for granted and most painfully has taken the President of this republic for granted and anybody that has confidence in him and held that he should be in that office.
He has taken all of us for granted and I think that is a very serious thing or act to commit that the whole country is seeking to fight corruption and you have demonstrated that that’s what you want to use your life to accomplish and you’ve been given the platform as such to deliver for the country and you just turned around and abandon that opportunity given you.”
BACKGROUND
Mr. Martin A. B. K Amidu resigned from his position as Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Ghana after three (3) years of service giving the reason that President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo is interfering in his work as a Special Prosecutor.
