Match Day One of South Tongu District FA Division 3 Middle League
AESC held Angorto FC to a goal less draw whiles Yingor FC breaks the unbeaten record of Tefle Young in the 2021/2022 season.
The four teams in the South Tongu District FA Division three began their journey into the regional Division Two qualification by displaying talents in their first pairings.
The first match which saw both teams squandering a lot of glorious chances ended in a goal less draw between the Africa Eagles Sporting Club from Sogakope/Toklokpo and Angorto FC from Dordoekope, whiles Tefle Young from Tefle tasted their first ever defeat for the season from the hands of Yingor FC from Dabala (0-1).
The DFA Chairman Mr Francis Quashie Agbedeke in his address for the opening ceremony congratulated the clubs for making it to the middle. He as well thanked the WAFA management for giving out their facility for the program to be organised.
He as well thanked the member of Parliament Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome for intervening for the release of the facility as well as his supports to the DFA and the individual clubs.
Hon. Woyome in his speech congratulates the organisers and recounts that, besides taking up the officiating fee for the league, supporting with medals to the winners, he was supporting the individual clubs with GH¢ 300 each.
He as well promised his support for the team that will eventually qualify to Division 2 as well as other supports for the individual teams which will be pronounced winner on the final day.
He however admonished the fans to make good use of the facility so as not to cause any disaffection between the owners and the FA.
Day Two promises to be more interesting as Angorto who are currently holding on to a point (1) in their advantage takes on Tefle Young who are currently at the bottom with no points (0) whiles Africa Eagle Sporting Club also with a point (1) lock horn with Yingor FC who are currently leading with three (3) points.
