Barbara Tulu Clemens, the newly appointed Country Director for World Food Programme, Ghana is in the country for almost two 2 months now.

Formerly she worked in Nigeria as the Head of Programme for one of WFP’s large emergency operations.

Ms. Barbara has contributed greatly with her over thirty years of continuous work and experience in different functional roles regarding humanitarian and programmes for development globally.

The Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto communicated the fruitful discussed ideas and their outcomes from the meeting held with Ms. Barbara Clemens, Representative and Council Director for the WFP in Ghana.

Mrs Barbara  disclosed in the video that, “She’s here to discuss historical collaboration and a forward meaning of how we’ll collaborate in the future to bring food security, specifically, related to small holders and farmers in Ghana.”

“We are have currently invested quite heavily in the Ghana e-commerce programme where the emphasis is on incentivizing small holder farmers and ensuring that they have market, access and also via #Vchain is encumbered and encouraging to bring the products market.”

She added,  “So, I still look forward to collaborating with Ministry of Agriculture and with Dr. Akoto and his team.”
