Meet the inspirational Young Ghanaian Woman who became a Chartered Accountant at 18

Princess Korkor Boateng’s educational journey has been anything but typical in Ghana. While Ghana’s education system mandates six years of primary school, three years of junior high school, three years of senior high school, and four years of tertiary education, Princess took a different path.

At age 11, while in class six, she wrote a special common entrance exam for Akosombo International School, which allowed her to skip JHS and enter senior high school. She completed her SHS education at age 14 and applied to the University of Ghana, Legon, where she is currently in her final year.

In addition to her academic studies, Princess pursued a professional course in Chartered Accountancy, becoming a chartered accountant even before completing her first degree.

Her journey was not without challenges, including the need to balance her academic coursework with professional studies. Nonetheless, Princess persevered, with the support of her parents, who provided both financial and emotional assistance.

Princess Korkor Boateng has already achieved much, becoming Ghana’s youngest chartered accountant and receiving the President’s Award upon graduation.

Looking ahead, she hopes to work for one of the top four firms and eventually become a financial analyst for the World Bank. She encourages young people to pursue their goals without fear of their age. Her unique journey is an inspiration to all who face obstacles in achieving their dreams.
