Owusu Afriyie Junior happens to be the only teacher, handling the Mankyare D/A Primary School in the Afram Plains North District.
The teacher has been handling the Kindergarten to Primary 6 of the school since he was posted there in 2017 till date.
Bishop, as he is affectionately known, has called on benevolent individuals to come to the aid of his students. He indicated that, despite all challenges, the pupils still love schooling and would need the assistant of benevolent individuals.
Mankyare is a fishing community, located on the Digya Island in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District and takes not less than 5 hours on the River Volta to reach.
Bishop, in a Facebook post indicated that, his passion for the teaching profession, coupled with his love for the kids he teaches, are the main reasons for which he is still at post.
