The Ministry of Education (MoE) has signed a contract with the Korea Exim Bank to establish a University at Bunso.
The agreement was for the establishment of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) at Bunso.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Adutwum by Hon. John Ntim Fodjour, the Deputy Minister for Education.

The project which is expected to be completed in April 2024 is being funded by the Korea Exim Bank from the Economic Development Corporation Fund (EDCF).
The Bunso campus of the University is expected to focus on agro-entrepreneurship and engineering.
