The manifesto challenge among the two major political parties thus; the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the run up to the December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections is on the rise.
A section of Ghanaians especially members of the National Democratic Congress believe that, the “People’s Manifesto: Jobs, Prosperity and More” is more reliable, realistic and trustworthy than the New Patriotic Party’s Manifesto of “Leadership of Service: Promoting Our Progress, Transforming Ghana for All”
Interacting with electorates on a campaign tour to the Bono Region, the Leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. John Dramani Mahama says, his focus, in the next administration government as President, will be Jobs, Jobs nothing but Jobs.
According to him, one of the private sector measures to boost job creation will be the introduction of tax incentives to micro, small and medium enterprises where over two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) jobs will be created annually when the NDC wins the December 2020 polls.
The former President is confident that, the NDC’s manifesto which was crafted into six key areas: fixing the economy, promoting human development, providing infrastructure for growth, providing decent jobs, good governance and corruption and deepening international relations and foreign affairs will completely solve Ghanaians problems.
John Dramani Mahama noted that the NDC will do all these within the first three months, exempting all small businesses from personal income and corporate taxes, and reduce corporate tax for medium size enterprises to 15%. This will position the companies to plough their profits back into the business, expanding production and job opportunities.
