The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the expansion of its premium registration services to provide enhanced convenience and accessibility to the general public.

Starting from Monday, 12th June 2023, premium registration services will be available at the NIA’s Volta, Bono, Bono East, Northern, and Western North Regional offices.

These centers will operate in addition to the existing Premium Centers located at the NIA and CalBank Head Offices in Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional offices.

The premium registration centers will offer fee-based services, including first-time registration and issuance of Ghana Cards, replacement of lost, missing, or damaged cards, and updates of personal records that require the printing of a new card.

The fees for these services are set at GHC 280 for first-time registration and issuance of a Ghana Card, and GHC 110 for card replacements and updates of personal records.

Various update services will be available, each attracting a fee. These include changes or corrections of an applicant’s name, order of name, previous or maiden name, date of birth, nationality, gender, and height.

Applicants who wish to avail themselves of the premium services should take note of the following:

  1. Premium services will be available through both an online booking system and a walk-in system.
  2. Payments for premium services must be made through the CalBank Mobile Banking Platform using the short code *771#, or via the CalBank Online Mobile App.
  3. Alternatively, payment can be made at any CalBank branch.
The newly established Premium Centers will not accept cash payments for any of the services rendered.

Applicants should be aware that not all requests for updates of personal records or card replacements can be handled on the same day. The NIA advises that the review and approval process for such requests may require additional time.
