National Service Personnels across the country currently are paid an allowance of ¢559 per month, an amount that is determined by the Ministry of Finance.
The harshtag #IncreaseNssAllawa has been trending on twitter with many National Service Personnels across the country calling on the President Nana Akufo Addo led Government to increase their service allowance since the current amount of ¢559 is woefully inadequate.
Many National Service Personnels argue that, their monthly allowance which is ¢559 is inadequate considering the cost of living and the inflation of the price of goods and services in the country.

@Sarpong : The cost we incur during this service period is too much ( rent, utility bills, transportation and affording basic necessities for ourselves). It makes life almost impossible during this period.
