Until now, the Navrongo Police District Headquarters operated some of its key offices from rooms meant for accommodating Police Officers in the barracks due to infrastructure deficit.
On 9th September, 2020 the Inspector-General of Police Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh commissioned an office complex at Navrongo in the Upper East region, containing all the needed offices, including juvenile cells and a conference room for the headquarters.
IGP Mr. Oppong-Boanuh was full of praise for the District Commander, DSP Mr. Francis Agyare who upon resuming duty as the commander last year and seeing the state of the police accommodation set out to seek the Police Administration’s approval to mobilise towards the construction of the new office complex. He admonished Police Officers who will ever work in the facility to maintain and preserve the good state of the office and its equipment.
The Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Osei Kwaku
Ampofo-Duku said that the new building will also give way for rooms to be available to accommodate personnel. He listed a number of sponsors to the project, including the Chiefs, Regional Minister, Member of Parliament, some groups and individual benefactors such as Mr. Stephen Aguah who passionately supported the project with material and financial resources.
