The founding President of the think tank group IMANI Africa, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe has urged the Government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo not to pressurise itself into relaxing existing stringent regulations against ‘Okada’.

It could be recalled that the politics of legalizing and regularising commercial use of motobicycles began in the country when the flagbearer for the opposition National Democratic Congress promised to legalize the commercial use of motobicycles popularly called ‘Okada’.

Following the announcement of the promise from the flagbearer of the NDC, some members of Government indicated that, the current New Patriotic Party Government is holding consultations with stakeholders on the legalization of ‘Okada’.

However, commenting on the Okada Politics, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe urged the Government not to pressurise itself into relaxing existing stringent regulations
against Okada.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe said;

l’d urge the govt not to pressurise itself into relaxing existing stringent regulations against Okada and importeds vehicles. Voters may read suspicious meanings.
