Two individuals have been apprehended at the New Ningo D/A Basic School B polling station in the Ningo-Prampram constituency, as they made an effort to disrupt the ongoing voting process. Prompt action by the police prevented the situation from escalating any further, leading to the arrests.
Citi News correspondent Philip Lartey reported that the police swiftly intervened, detaining the two individuals involved in the disturbance. Their intention was to persuade delegates present at the polling station to vote in favor of their preferred candidate.
The current Member of Parliament, Sam George, is facing a formidable challenge from Michael Kwetey Tetteh, who narrowly lost in the 2019 parliamentary primaries by a mere seven votes. In an earlier interview with Citi News, Sam George expressed confidence in the delegates’ support, believing they would reelect him for a third term in the upcoming 2024 elections
