New Academic Calendar for 2023 Academic Year KG – SHS
Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has updated the 2023 Academic Calendar for Senior High and Seminar High Technical Schools, Junior High Schools, Primary Schools and Kindergartens.
GES in a letter has instructed all Regional Directors of GES to ensure that Heads for Basic and Second Cycle Institutions in their respective regions take note of the provisions in the attached calendar and comply accordingly to facilitate a smooth running of the academic year.
1st Term Vacation
In the updated 2023 academic calendar, Basic schools will go for 1st Term vacation starting on 24th March, 2023 through to 2nd April, 2023.
2nd Term resuming & vacation date
Second (2nd) Term will reopen on 3rd April, 2023 and end on 15th May, 2023 for basic schools. Vacation will start on 16th June, 2023 till 26th June, 2023 for all basic schools.
3rd Term
Third Term (3rd Term) for all basic schools will start on 27th June ,2023. Vacation will start on 14th September 2023.
BECE DATE 2023
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the 2023 academic year will be written in the month of September.
