North Tongu DCE nominee, Osborn Fenu gets 100% endorsement from Assembly Members

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s District Chief Executive nominee for the North Tongu District Assembly Mr. Divine Osborn Fenu gets a 100% endorsement from the Assembly Members.

Mr. Divine Osborn Fenu was confirmed at a short event held at the Premises of the North Tongu District Assembly Court on 5th October, 2021.

The confirmation exercise saw a total of forty-one (41) Assembly Members present who took part in the voting process.

At the end of the polls, the a total of forty-one (41) Assembly Members out of forty-two (42) Assembly Members in the District voted yes for his full confirmation as the District Chief Executive for the North Tongu District Assembly.

A BRIEF PROFILE ABOUT MR. DIVINE OSBORN FENU

The North Tongu Constituency District Chief Executive nominee Mr. Divine Osborn Kwadzo was born on 29th September, 1980 and hails from Manya Battor. His parents are  Emmanuel Kwasi Fenu(late) and Vincentia Nyahamele Akorligle.

He has an MA in communication Studies ( UCC), BA in Psychology with English, Teacher’s Cert A. He is an astute political communicator, a Psychologist and a catechist/Caretaker of the Methodist Church Ghana, Battor Society.

He began his basic education at Vome Methodist Basic School and completed in 1995.

He entered Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School (ABAST) and offered Agriculture. He completed in 1998 and entered the St. Francis College of Education in 2000 and completed in 2003.

He was posted to Dadome L.A JHS in September, 2003 where he  taught for 3 years and took transfer to Battor Methodist JHS. He spent 2 years there and then proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon to Pursue his 1st Degree in Psychology with English. He completed in 2012 and got posted to his Alma mater Aveyime Battor SHTS where he is teaching currently.

He obtained his Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Cape Coast in 2019.

Mr. Fenu has played many leadership roles. He has been the catechist /Caretaker of the Methodist Church, Battor Society since June, 2014.

He is the assistant staff secretary at Aveyime Battor SHTS and a form Master. He is also serving his 2nd term as the 2nd Cycle representative of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Aveyime Local.

He was a course Representative at University of Ghana – City Campus between 2009 and 2012 (Psychology class).

He was also the Secretary to the Tongu Student Union now National Union of Tongu Students and Associates (NUTSA), Legon Chapter from 2011 to 2012.

At the St. Francis College of Education, he was elected the assistant SRC secretary between 2002 and 2003.

He was the Student Union secretary at the SHS between 1997 and 1998.

At the JHS he was the assistant School Prefect.

Politically, Mr Fenu has served his party NPP in the North Tongu Constituency very well and distinguished himself as one of the best upcoming young politician in Tongu.

Until his appointment, he is the NPP constituency secretary for North Tongu. He joined the NPP in 1998 right after SHS and rose through the ranks of polling station secretary to electoral area Coordinator (2 terms), and then to constituency Communications officer.

He became the Constituency secretary of NPP in 2018 after winning a keenly contested elections beating the incumbent with huge margins. He has distinguished himself as one best Secretaries the party has ever produced.

He also came close to becoming a  DCE in 2017 after having gone through the constituency, Regional and National vetting but lost out.

He is described by many as a very humble, committed, hardworking and loyal young politician.  He is described as a  grassroot person who has served the district in many ways and therefore knows the peculiar problems of the District.

His experience as a professional Teacher, a catechist, political experience in leadership and qualifications endears him most for the position of DCE for North Tongu.

Mr. Fenu is married with 3 beautiful children.
