North Tongu ready for NDC: Thousands Rally in Massive Victory Walk

In a vibrant show of support, thousands of people in the North Tongu Constituency turned out on Saturday, 19th October 2024, for a massive Health Walk and Health Screening event at Mepe.

This energetic event, which forms part of the National Democratic Congress’ preparations ahead of the crucial December 7 general elections, aimed to promote healthy lifestyles while raising awareness about the “Resetting Ghana” manifesto.

The event, spearheaded by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, attracted participants from various wards, including Aveyime East & Central, Agbetikpo-Sikor, Mafi Dedukope, Kekpo-Manya, Battor Dugame, Mepe, Mepe Degorme, Dadome, Adudornu, Workpoe, Battor Torgodo, Kpekpo-Horme, Vome, and Deve and outside the Constituency.

Participants converged at the Manya School Park before embarking on a walk through Battor to the Mepe Presbyterian JHS Park, which served as the final destination.

The programme was not just about fitness, however, as part of a triple-action initiative (Aveyime-Battor-Mepe mega walk), the day featured a comprehensive medical outreach, house-to-house campaign, voter education, and engagement with the people of Aveyime, Battor, and Mepe on the party’s policies outlined in the Resetting Ghana manifesto.

The initiative is part of the broader “Operation 94%” strategy aimed at securing an overwhelming majority of votes in the upcoming elections.

Notably, the event drew participation from a diverse group of individuals, not only staunch NDC supporters but also random people from the community. Some were members of other political parties who joined the walk in anticipation of a victory for the NDC.

Many in the constituency, regardless of their political affiliations, expressed their hope that the NDC’s plan to reset Ghana would end the suffering of Ghanaians under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Hon. Ablakwa urged all NDC supporters and sympathizers to rally behind Operation 94 Percent and ensure a resounding victory in the North Tongu Constituency.

He emphasized the need for commitment, hard work, and engagement as the elections approach. The remarkable participation in the walk reflected the confidence and enthusiasm of the people, as victory appeared to resonate loudly in their minds.

Supporters wore NDC-branded T-shirts as they marched through the streets, inspiring others to join the campaign and help secure a decisive victory for the NDC in the December 2024 polls.

This event underscores the unity and determination of the NDC in North Tongu as they aim to achieve a historic 94% voter turnout in the 2024 general elections.

As the campaign continues to gain momentum, the community remains focused on delivering success for the party’s flagbearer H.E John Dramani Mahama as President, and Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as Member of Parliament on December 7, 2024.
