GhanaBa Shares Policy
In a bold move to reshape the economic landscape of Ghana, the flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Frimpomaa, has introduced the groundbreaking GhanaBa Shares policy.
During an engagement with traders in Ho, in the Volta Regional on 14th October, 2024 on her Volta Region campaign tour, she explained that the policy aims to economically empower 20 million Ghanaians by providing each individual with ¢20,000 to build businesses, cooperatives, and corporations.
This initiative aligns with the CPP’s broader vision for economic independence, poverty alleviation, and national progress.
Economic Empowerment for Ghanaians
The GhanaBa Shares policy represents a transformative vision that will enable millions of Ghanaians to take control of their economic destiny. According to Nana Frimpomaa, this initiative will foster the creation of interest group companies and cooperatives, ultimately making citizens owners of major industries in the country.
“The time has come for Ghanaians to be true shareholders of our economy. By providing ¢20,000 to 20 million citizens, we will empower them to create wealth, contribute to the nation’s tax base, and accelerate the formalization of our economy,” she remarked.
This policy is expected to widen the tax net, as more Ghanaians will move from informal to formal economic sectors, thereby enhancing national revenue and reducing dependence on external loans.
Economic Independence
At the heart of Nana Frimpomaa’s vision is the drive for economic independence for all Ghanaians. The GhanaBa Shares policy is a cornerstone of the CPP’s agenda, designed to empower citizens to take full charge of the country’s economy. With this policy, Ghanaians are encouraged to move from reliance on foreign aid and external investments to self-sustaining economic activities.
“Our aim is to build a nation where Ghanaians are the primary stakeholders in our industries and resources. Through GhanaBa Shares, we will be able to generate local wealth and reduce our reliance on international financial institutions,” Nana Frimpomaa noted.
Poverty Reduction
The CPP envisions the GhanaBa Shares policy as a powerful tool for poverty reduction. By providing citizens with the capital to start businesses, the policy will directly address the financial challenges faced by many Ghanaians.
The flagbearer shared the story of Makafui, a young Ghanaian who had struggled to start a business due to a lack of capital. With the support of GhanaBa Shares, Makafui was able to establish a successful enterprise, exemplifying the potential impact the policy could have on the lives of millions.
“This is not just a policy on paper. It is a lifeline that will allow Ghanaians to break free from the shackles of poverty and build prosperous futures for themselves and their communities,” Nana Frimpomaa stressed.
Transparency and Accountability
In addressing concerns over the implementation of such a large-scale policy, the CPP has assured Ghanaians of transparency and accountability in the rollout of GhanaBa Shares. The party has outlined a comprehensive plan for the fair distribution of funds, emphasizing the importance of training and supporting beneficiaries to ensure the successful utilization of the resources provided.
“There will be no room for corruption or mismanagement. We have a clear plan for distributing and managing the funds, and we will offer extensive training and support to beneficiaries, ensuring they know how to use these resources effectively,” Nana Frimpomaa affirmed.
Political Will
With a firm commitment to turning this vision into reality, Nana Frimpomaa reiterated the CPP’s dedication to making the GhanaBa Shares policy a central focus of the party’s campaign in the 2024 general elections. The party believes that the policy’s potential to transform the lives of Ghanaians will resonate with voters and help secure victory.
“We are confident that GhanaBa Shares will resonate with Ghanaians. It is a major campaign issue because it addresses the everyday struggles of the average Ghanaian. Our political will is strong, and we are determined to make this policy a reality when we win the 2024 elections,” she concluded.
As the campaign season approaches, the GhanaBa Shares policy is expected to generate significant interest and debate, offering Ghanaians a promising path toward economic empowerment and independence.
