The ruling New Patriotic Party is holding it’s parliamentary primaries today, June 20, 2020 ahead of the December 7th presidential and parliamentary elections.

The parliamentary primaries is being held in 101 constituencies with sitting members of Parliament across the country. The polls opened at 7:00 am and is expected to close at exactly 1:00 pm.

One of the constituencies under perspective is the Kwesimintim constituency where the the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr Prince Hamid Armah is contesting the seat with Mr. Joe Mensah.


At the end of polls, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah defeated Mr. Joe Mensah to become the NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Kwesimintim constituency for the 2020 general election.

Total Valid Votes: 389
Armah: 222 = (57.07%)
Joe Mensah: 167  = (42.93%)
