Nsawam District: Thieves vandalizes Nkumkrom’s ‘200kVA’ transformer and stripped off copper windings

Thieves have vandalized a transformer with a capacity of 200kVA in Nkumkrom located in the Nsawam District. The individuals responsible for the act have not been identified yet. The thieves toppled the pole-mounted transformer and proceeded to steal the copper windings leaving behind an empty metal casing.
However, the authorities have been notified, and the police are currently conducting investigations to apprehend the culprits.

The public has been advised to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity observed around installations belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to the police.
