Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) under the leadership of Dr. Christian Addai Poku, Registrar of NTC has announced a 4-day training for over 2,000 unqualified teachers.
The National Teaching Council in collaboration with the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) with support from the Ministry of Finance is organizing a 4-day Training of Trainers for training of Unqualified Teachers in private schools this week.

According to NTC, this training will form the basis for pilot training of unqualified teachers to equip them with the best practices on how to teach literacy and numeracy and also have in-depth knowledge of professional practice and conduct.
Dr. Christian Addai Poku led NTC said, in all about two thousand (2000) unqualified teachers will be trained in various parts of the country.

The National Teaching Council, being the agency mandated by law to regulate the teaching profession has taken so much interest in the issue of untrained teachers in our classroom.
Management of NTC acknowledges that there are a lot of untrained teachers who are well adept in their content knowledge and need a bit of pedagogy to deliver effectively.
