NTC begins tertiary graduates indexing for 2023 GTLE registration

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has begun the process of indexing tertiary graduates for the 2023 GTLE registration.

This process involves collecting the full details of current and graduate students from various Colleges of Education and Universities to generate specific codes for easy access to resources on the NTC platforms.

In a blog post, the NTC revealed that the indexing process is necessary to ensure that only candidates who have been successfully indexed can take the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

The NTC is using the date of continuing and graduated students from Colleges of Education and Universities to help generate codes for them.

It is now mandatory for one to have at least a degree qualification before being licensed as a professional teacher.

The NTC will send SMS messages through the mobile number provided by trainees to their colleges, containing their Name, Code, and a link to the NTC Indexing website.

Candidates are expected to open the link and fill in the necessary requirements as needed.

The communication from the NTC further advised that if a candidate does not receive their messages or cannot pay the registration fee at the bank, they should contact their college authorities to confirm whether their information has been sent to the Teaching Council.

The registration for the 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) is GH¢50.00.

The NTC’s move to index graduates from Colleges of Education and Universities is expected to streamline the process and ensure that only qualified candidates take the GTLE.

It is hoped that this indexing process will improve the quality of education in Ghana and produce better-prepared teachers to contribute to the development of the country.
