The Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South Constituency Dakoa Newman has enrolled ten (10) young and enterprising men and women as apprentices in Printing and Design.
According to the MP, the young Constituents will be engaged in hands on skills development for the next two (2) years in the following field;
1. Screen Printing
2. Large Format printing
3. Embroidery and
4. Digital Printing
Dakoa Newman who is also a member of Parliament’s Education Committee and Public Accounnt Committee has announced that, this training will come at no cost to the apprentices because, she has absorbed all the cost of their skill development training.
In addition, she has pledged to further provide a monthly stipend for the upkeep if the apprentices during the course of the Programme.
The support towards skill development training of the youth forms part of the Okaikoi South youth empowerment Programme initiated by the MP.
She is confident that more companies such as Brand City within her constituency will be willing to enter into productive partnerships that will be mutually beneficial for their business, the youth and our community.
