One arrested, others on the run over murder of fulani herdsmen

The Northern Regional Police command has arrested one Danko Dalabra in connection with the murder of some 8 Fulani herdsmen in the Yendi Municipality.

Danko was arrested, following an incident that occured on April 13, 2022 where some 8 Fulani herdsmen were murdered.

According to a release from the Ghana Police Service, signed by Supt. Bernard Baba Ananga (Ag. Public Affairs Officer/NR), Danko was among a gang of armed men who stormed a Fulani settlement, murdered 8 of the inhabitants, injured 5 and others, took away some livestock and set the settlement ablaze.


The release further indicated that, a joint team of intelligence and operations officers from the National and Regional Police Headquarters has been deployed to pursue and arrest the reaming culprits.

Danko Dalabra is said to have been arraigned at the Yendi Circuit Court and has been remanded to reappear on May 5, 2022.

The Police Service has assured the public that they will not relent in their efforts in fighting crime and keeping our communities safe.
