Fire Service discloses how they prevented a fuel tanker truck from exploding

Management of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recounted the dexterous efforts put in place by the Western Regional Firefighters to prevent a fuel tanker truck from exploding.

They disclosed that on Monday, 18th April, 2022 , a DAF Fuel Tanker Truck with registration number WR 4208-12 discharged fuel at Kings Energy Limited at Asasetre, suburb of Esiama, Western Region.

In the process of discharging the fuel, an explosion nearly happen but due to the timely intervention of their dexterous Axim and Nkroful Firefighters for the Stations, the situation did not escalate.

The Fire Stations dispatched two (2) fire engines to the grounds to save the situation. Within a duration of 2 hours 10 minutes, their firefighters worked assiduously to knock the raging fire involving the fuel after receiving the distress fire call at exactly 1805 hours.

The firefighters worked to the extent that they did not record any casualties.
