The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) explained into details how the Kasapreko Station firefighters responded to a vehicular fire on the Motorway Abattoir Stretch.

In a report filed by the PRO of the Tema Region dated Wednesday, 27th April 2022, the PRO narrated in the report by describing the Truck and chemicals it was transporting hence, the timely intervention of the firefighters from the Kasapreko Station saying that,

“A Truck in transit with registration number GR 6910 J, transporting hazardous chemical from Tema caught fire around 2pm yesterday Tuesday, 26th April, 2022 at Community 18 Abattoir.”

Two (2) fire engines from Kasapreko and Motorway Fire Stations were dispatched to the scene but the second appliance from Motorway returned to base realising upon arrival the fire had been tackled by the first appliance.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the timeous intervention of the Service prevented the fire from affecting the container housing the hazardous materials. Fortunately, no casualty was recorded. Investigation continues to unravel the cause of the vehicular fire.

” Kudos to the Kasapreko Firefighters for saving the situation,” PRO thanked the station.
