BACKGROUND
Coverghana.com.gh can report that, the South Tongu Constituency Elections scheduled for last Saturday, 22nd October, 2022 faced an injunction from the National Elections Directorate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Prior to the Constituency Elections, the National Elections Directorate of NDC released a notice signed by Daniel Amartey Mensah the Deputy Director of Elections indicating that, all five branches of Sogakope SHS (SOGASCO) including other constituencies in the Volta, Eastern, Central, Western, Upper West and Greater Accra Regions are on hold until further notice.
The injunction being placed on the five branches at Sogasco few days into the elections generated confusion during the aborted elections organized at the Comboni Assembly Hall, Sogakope.
The South Tongu Constituency NDC elections have been disrupted and finally suspended indefinitely by the Elections Directorate.
