Parliamentary Select Committee on Education has endorsed the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as the acting Ghana Education Service (GES) Director-General.
The Chairperson for the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, Hon. Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah and the Ranking Member, Hon. Peter Kwasi Nortsu-Kotoe louded the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as they paid a courtesy call on him on Monday, 31st October, 2022.
The meeting between the leadership of Parliamentary Select Committee on Education and Dr. Eric Nkansah was aimed at congratulating him [Ag. Director-General] and wishing him well in his new role.
The Honorable Members of Parliament and members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education also assured Dr. Nkansah of their support and guidance to help Ghana Education Service (GES) continuously fulfill its mandate.
Even though the three major Teacher Unions; GNAT, NAGRAT, CCT-GH and a section of Ghanaian teachers opposed the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education went ahead to endorsed and congratulated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appointee as GES Director-General.
