The Government of Ghana under the leadership of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has begin implementing agenda 111.
Agenda 111 is an initiative of the Government of Ghana to provide one hundred and eleven new hospitals in districts across the country.
According to the Government, the building of th new 111 hospitals across the country will ensure the following;
- Expected to deepen healthcare delivery at all district levels and ensure that the Ghanaian can access high quality healthcare.
- It will also provide thousands of jobs for the healthcare staff to be recruited and posted to all these 111 facilities as well as their ancillary workers in these communities.
- The housing and local services associated with these projects are also expected to add a new layer to local economic activities in service of the local communities.
The Agenda 111 project will include new 101 district hospitals
Six (6) regional hospitals in the newly created regions in North East Region Savannah Region, Bono East Region, Ahafo Region, Western North Region – Sefwi, Oti Region.
Two specialised hospitals in the middle and northern belts, as well as a regional hospital in the Western Region and renovation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
