The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo has made a series of posts on social media expressing his heart felt condolences to the family and the Government of the United States of America for the sad demise of the late American politician and civil rights leader John Robert Lewis.
According to President Nana Addo, it was with sadness that he received the newsletter of the death of the icons of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States of America, Congressman John Robert Lewis.

In a tweet, the President also added that, the late Congressman John Robert Lewis’ life was a life that was well-lived.

I have received the sad news of the
death of one of the icons of the Civil
Rights Movement in the United States of
America, Congressman John Lewis.Ghana played host to him anda
delegation from the US Congress last
year, as part of activities to
commemorate the Year of Return’. His
was a life well-lived.The Ghanaian people and I extend our
deepest condolences to his family, and
to the Government and people of the
United States of America. May his soul
rest in perfect peace.
