Rawlings was a true friend and a father figure in my life – Ibrahim Mahama

The Chief Executive Officer, Engineer & Planners Co. Ltd Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has disclosed that, the late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings was a true friend and a father figure in his life.

In a tribute to the Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the first President of the 4th Republic of Ghana on his final funeral rites, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama said, he discussed a lot with the former President relative to his person in businesses.

It will take a whole book to write a tribute to you – Mahama’s tribute to late President Rawlings.

According to him, the principles, knowledge and wisdom Jerry John Rawlings deposited in him will remain and guide him through his lifetime. “You will always remain in my thoughts. Till we meet again.” He said.

On Wednesday, 27th January, 2021, the former president Jerry John Rawlings who passed on in November 2020 after a short illness was lied to rest in the Military Cementary, Accra.

His final funeral rites saw in attendance some key personalities in Ghana and across the globe who came to pay their last respect to the Ghana’s longest serving President.
