Reopening date for KNUST 2023/2024 Academic Year

There had been uncertainty on the reopening date for many Universities in the country due to the scheduling of the West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

KNUST had made it clear to the public that there will be significant changes in their usual academic calendar.

According to KNUST, the start of 2023/2024 academic year will be January  2024.

In a statement, management of KNUST said, 

“We are reaching out to you with important information about the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Due to the scheduling of the West African Senior School  Certificate  Examination (WASSCE) for the 2023 session, there will be significant changes to our academic calendar.

The West African Examination Council is responsible for the administration of the WASSCE, a significant examination that marks the end of Secondary education for students in West Africa. It is a critical step for students looking forward to furthering their studies at institutions such as Ours, KNUST.

For the 2023 session, the WASSCE is scheduled to take place later than usual. This change in schedule will inevitably affect the time for marking, processing and releasing of results by WAEC, consequently, this will also impact other subsequent processes, including  the processing and release of of the 2023/2024 KNUST admissions.

Given these circumstances, we wish to inform our prospective students, parents and stakeholders that the start of 2023/2024 academic year at KNUST will be January  2024. We understand that this change may bring about some inconveniences, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause to your plans.

We believe that this rescheduling is in the best interest of our students, ensuring that all necessary processes are completed thoroughly without compromising on the quality of education and fairness in our admission processe. We are committed in maintaining the highest academic standards and providing a smooth transition for our incoming students despite these unforseen circumstances .

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide and provide you with update as soon as they become available .We encourage all our prospective students to use this extended period to  prepare adequately for their upcoming studies at KNUST.
