The South Tongu District GNAT chairman Mr. Elorm Golo is calling on government through the Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Education and others to supply textbooks to schools to support smooth and effective teaching and learning.
According to Mr. Elorm Golo, though, people may argue that, the Resource Packs are enough materials for the teacher to teach, but, that will not be complete to deliver effective teaching and learning in the classroom.
He explained that, textbooks are very critical components together with other logistics that are needed for effective teaching and learning at the Basic Schools.
Speaking to Coverghana.com.gh, the young and humble GNAT District Chairman noted that, the non availability of teaching and learning materials in schools after the introduction of the new curriculum is challenging.
“If you take the curriculum alone, you might be able to do something but, that will not be in-depth enough, though the teacher is expected to go look for information online and research.” Elorm Golo said.
