Revealed : NPP MPs refusing to support E-levy accounting for delays in reintroduction of the motion in Parliament

Some Members of Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, are secretly refusing to support the Electronic transactions Levy.
The President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo led Government introduced an Electronic Transactions Levy popularly called the E-Levy in the 2022 budget statement presented in Parliament and this has been met with many oppositions.
Despite the oppositions to the bill, the Minister of Finance Mr Ken Ofori Atta has revealed that the Government intends to reintroduce the levy for consideration by Parliament.
However, there are delays in the process of reintroducing it in Parliament. according to a staunch member of National Democratic Congress, the NPP’s Parliamentary majority group is delaying the re-introduction of the E-levy bill/motion in Parliament because they don’t have the numbers as some lawmakers on their side have refused to be whipped in line.

NPP’s Parliamentary majority group is again delaying the re-introduction of the E-levy bill/motion in the house because they don’t have the numbers. They’ve been struggling to get all 138 MPs without success.
Some members have refused to be whipped in line to present themselves to be counted.
We’re watching the diversionary consultations and town hall meetings intended to hide the NPP’s internal frustrations.
