Ron Cephas Jones was an American actor best known for playing William Hill in the drama series This Is Us (2016–2022). For this role, he received four straight Primetime Emmy nominations, and in 2018 and 2020, he won twice for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
Jones was a guest star on several television shows, including Mr. Robot (2015–2016), Half Nelson (2006), Across the Universe (2007), Glass Chin (2014), The Get Down (2016–2017), Luke Cage (2016–2018), and Truth Be Told (2019–2023). Following his second year, Jones left Ramapo after receiving his degree in 1978 and traveled to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a bus driver for the Southern California Rapid Transit District for the next four years. Jones claimed he “fell in love, had a child, and got separated” during that time. Before returning to New York City in 1985, he then “traveled around,” residing in San Francisco, Arizona, and New Orleans.
