Rudolph William Louis Giuliani is an American politician and lawyer who served as New York City’s 107th mayor from 1994 until 2001.

From 1981 to 1983, he was the United States Associate Attorney General, and from 1983 to 1989, he was the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Giuliani studied political science at Manhattan College in Riverdale, Bronx, and thought about becoming a priest. In his sophomore year, Giuliani was elected class president, but he was not re-elected in his junior year.

He joined the campus forensic fraternity and honor society Phi Rho Pi. He earned his diploma in 1965.

Giuliani chose not to enter the priesthood and instead attended the New York University School of Law in Manhattan, where he was a member of the NYU Law Review and graduated with honors in 1968.

In 2002, Giuliani established Giuliani Partners, a security consulting firm, and bought, but later sold, Giuliani Capital Advisors, an investment banking firm.

In 2005, he joined Bracewell & Giuliani, a law company. Giuliani was an early contender for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in 2008, but he fared poorly in the primary process; he later withdrew and endorsed the party’s subsequent nominee, John McCain.

Giuliani focused on the activities of his business businesses after declining to compete for New York governor in 2010 and the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

Furthermore, he has frequently been hired for public speaking, political commentary, and Republican campaign assistance.

Following the 2020 presidential election, he represented Trump in numerous lawsuits filed in an attempt to reverse the election results, falsely alleging rigged voting machines, polling place fraud, and an international communist plot.

His law license in New York State was suspended in June 2021, and in the District of Columbia in July 2021.

Later, he was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal investigation into Trump’s alleged election-rigging attempts.

On August 14, 2023, he was indicted alongside 18 other defendants in the Georgia 2020 election prosecution. On August 23, 2023, Giuliani was arrested, and his mugshot was made public.
